It's All Good!

So...things are going great here in Sunny Santiago. Mom, Steve, and Cari were just down here to visit for a few days. We headed up to Puerto Plata and stayed at Playa Dorado. It was nice. It was nicer having them here, sharing all of this with them. As I have said before, that is the one thing that I miss from the States.

That, and cheeseburgers.

Things at school are picking up. It is nearing report card time...and with report cards, come Parent/Teacher Conferences. Not so excited for that. The kids are doing really well with their English, I note improvements every day. I am beginning to feel much more effective in my work, which is good!

On Monday night, we had a YoungLife/WyldLife pizza and game night at school. Over 50 students showed up, even though there was monsoon-like rain. It has been awesome building relationships with the youth!
Now, as I am walking across campus I will hear, "Miss, Miss!" and see the kids waving at me. Sweet.
Although...this could also be due to the kindergarten "Pajama Day" that I REALLY got into. Pigtails, and all.

Church is growing like crazy! We run out of chairs every week! I am on rotation for teaching Sunday School with the little ones, they are so sweet! (And QUITE forgiving of my Spanish.) There has been a Haitian service that meets every Sunday night, and they speak French. They already have 30+. Please pray for the leadership in the ministry, that God would provide jobs where desperately needed.

I am getting really excited because so many of you are planning trips to come and visit! It is so amazing here, hard to put into words. If you are riding the fence about coming down....ride no more, my friend. Hop off that horse, and hop on a plane.

Speaking of CHEESE...I paid $3.00USD for 8 slices of Kraft American cheese yesterday. Sometimes you just have to splurge!
